Facilities for Students
Our facilities across the curriculum are excellent. Every department at Ellowes Hall provides students with the tools they need for effective learning.
A good education relies upon having the facilities and tools available for each subject. At Ellowes Hall we pride ourselves on our facilities, and we are currently engaged in a programme to proactively update them.
Ellowes Hall is one of few schools in the Black Country to be equipped with its own swimming pool. Not only does this enhance our P.E. curriculum, it also allows us to be recognised by the Institute for Lifesavers (IQL) as an Accredited Training Centre. This has enabled us to become self sufficient in running and assessing the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Our brand new Sports Hall, with over 1500 square metres of floor space has recently opened. The Sports Hall has transformed sports at Ellowes Hall, by providing the facilities needed for a multitude of sporting activities. At a cost of £1,200,000 the new building represents an incredible investment in the education of our students. The Sports Hall is used by all students throughout the school day, and is made available to the community outside of school hours. For more information, please visit our dedicated Sports Facilities page.
Our Performing Arts building hosts specialised music, dance and drama classrooms with the latest technology. The building also hosts individual and group practice rooms as well as a large performance area with seating for 200 people.
Over the past 12 months we have upgraded our ICT facilities to include over 550 PCs spread across the school (roughly one computer for every two students). Our Learning Resource Centre has over 70 computers available for students to use before school, during lunchtimes and after school. In addition, we have launched our Learning Platform, Ello, which allows students to access their online planners, homework and learning resources from anywhere in the world. Parents and carers can also track student progress.
Our school is covered by Wifi, so that students can bring their own personal devices in and gain access to the Internet, learning resources and Ello. If your child has a personal device purchased from their primary school then we can connect this to our network at no charge.
