Ellowes Hall uses its House System to encourage academic achievement and sporting excellence across the school
Upon starting at school, students will be allocated to one of our four Houses (Clent, Enville, Himley and Kinver). Their school tie will feature the House colours and they will have the opportunity to represent their house in numerous sporting and academic competitions. Recent competitions include Inter-House Maths Competitions, Cross-Country, Rugby, Inter-House Debating and Ellowes Bake-Off competitions.
All students belong to a ‘vertical’ tutor group, which meets at the start and end of each school day. Each tutor group belongs to a house, and will take place in regular house events. Each tutor group will also develop and present an assembly on the subject of their choice; recent assemblies include ‘World Peace Day’ and ‘Dealing with Change’.
Houses also compete on academic achievement, student attitude and attendance – the results of which are generated automatically from school reports and registers.
