On Wednesday 13th July, Ellowes Hall students performed in their first, live, Performing Arts Showcase in three years. Both students (and staff), were nervous but excited at the opportunity to share their rehearsed pieces with the wider school community.
The Showcase opened with a beautiful performance from Ilkan and Amelia-May named 'Experience', this was followed by our hard-working orchestra and our school choir and accompanying band entertained third. We then moved to our talented Drama students who had devised (with the help of Mr Wyer and Ms Mullan) their own piece entitled 'Everyday People' which had the audience giggling along at the comedic performances. Our dancers came next, with some excellent group and solo routines. They danced with excellent technique, timing and passion. Our Showcase closed with our Year 10 Rock Bands who had the audience clapping along and cheering with delight.
The evening was a success and Ms Tobin and the Performing Arts department felt elated and relieved!
Our next performance will be our school production of 'Phantom of the Opera' in November, stay tuned for ticket information.
Have a lovely Summer,
Ms Tobin
