Ellowes Sports College Joins the Let’s Go Zero Campaign

We’re proud to share that Ellowes Sports College, alongside all schools within the Invictus Education Trust, has joined the Let’s Go Zero campaign.

Let’s Go Zero is a national initiative supporting schools to reduce carbon emissions and work towards a zero-carbon future by 2030. By signing up, we are committing to practical actions that reduce energy use, cut waste, and promote sustainability across our school, as part of a wider trust-wide commitment.

Being part of this campaign gives us access to expert advice, funding opportunities, and a national network of schools leading the way in climate action.

Our Let’s Go Zero priorities at Ellowes Sports College include:

• Sign up to the Let’s Go Zero Campaign – Complete

• Establish an Eco-Council – In progress

• Improve operational efficiencies (heating schedules, TRVs, smart meters, fuel audits and monitoring) – In progress

• Introduce power-down and switch-off strategies – In progress

• Develop catering strategies (increasing planet-friendly options, influencing food choices, sustainability and waste recycling) – In progress

• Complete school recycling and waste audits (enabling correct recycling and waste disposal) – Complete

• Explore solar viability projects on site – In progress

• Enhance our school environment to support nature (bird feeders, bat boxes, bug hotels, planting and tree-growing to encourage wildlife) – In progress
